SMS Forwarder

SMS Forwarder helps users forward incoming SMS messages to a destination they configure — such as email, a webhook URL, or another phone number — based on simple rules.

What SMS Forwarder does

SMS Forwarder runs on your Android phone and watches for incoming SMS messages. When a new message arrives, the app checks it against the forwarding rules you've created. If a rule matches, the message is sent to the destination you configured — for example, your email inbox, a webhook on a system you operate, or another mobile number.

The app is designed for people who need their text messages to reach somewhere else: business owners who want OTPs and order alerts in their email, technicians who want SMS-based events to hit a webhook, families who want a backup of important texts on a different phone.

Permissions explained

Why SMS Forwarder needs the permissions it asks for

Forwarding SMS messages is the core function of this app, so the app must be allowed to see incoming messages. Android requires the user to grant these permissions explicitly. Here is exactly what each one is used for.

RECEIVE_SMS

Used to detect when a new SMS arrives so the app can evaluate forwarding rules. Without this permission, the app cannot know that a message has arrived and cannot forward anything.

READ_SMS

Used only when needed for forwarding rules — to read the content, sender and timestamp of incoming messages so the app can match them against the rules you created and include the message body in the forwarded payload.

Internet access

Used to deliver forwarded messages to the destinations you configured (for example, sending to an email server or posting to a webhook URL you specify).

What this means in practice. Message content is processed locally on your device and forwarded to the destination you chose. You control which destinations exist and which rules are active. Dostum Amigo does not sell personal data, does not use SMS content for advertising, and does not read your SMS messages on our own servers.
