Delete your SMS Forwarder data
SMS Forwarder doesn't require an online account, so most data lives on your own device. Here's how to remove it, plus how to request deletion of any support records.
1. Delete local app data
Use this if you want to wipe the app's stored rules, destinations and event history but keep the app installed.
- Open the Settings app on your Android device.
- Go to Apps (or Apps & notifications, depending on your device).
- Find and tap SMS Forwarder.
- Tap Storage & cache.
- Tap Clear data (or Clear storage) and confirm.
This removes all rules, destinations, settings and event logs from your phone. The app remains installed but starts fresh next time you open it.
2. Uninstall SMS Forwarder
Use this if you want to remove the app entirely. Uninstalling also removes all locally stored app data.
- Long-press the SMS Forwarder icon on your home screen or app drawer.
- Tap Uninstall (or drag the icon to the Uninstall area).
- Confirm the uninstall.
Alternatively: Google Play → Manage apps & device → SMS Forwarder → Uninstall.
3. Request deletion of support or contact records
If you have ever emailed us, used our contact form, or otherwise created records with Dostum Amigo about SMS Forwarder, you can ask us to delete those records.
- Send an email to privacy@dostumamigo.com from the same address you originally used to contact us.
- Subject: Data deletion request — SMS Forwarder.
- Briefly state which records you'd like deleted (for example: "Please delete all support correspondence I have sent regarding SMS Forwarder").
We may keep a minimal record of the request itself for compliance purposes — for example, to show that we received and acted on it.
4. Response timeframe
We aim to acknowledge deletion requests within 7 business days and complete eligible deletion requests within 30 days. If we need more information to identify the records, we'll reply asking for it.
5. What we cannot delete
Some things are outside our control:
- Forwarded messages already delivered. Once a message has been forwarded to your chosen destination (your email, your webhook, your other phone), the copy at that destination belongs to the systems you operate or use. You'll need to delete those copies through the destination service itself.
- Operator records. Mobile operators may keep their own logs of SMS traffic. Those are subject to your operator's own policies.
6. Need help?
If you're not sure which option is right for you, or you have any other questions about your data, write to privacy@dostumamigo.com or our general support address support@dostumamigo.com.
