App-specific policy

SMS Forwarder — Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains how the SMS Forwarder Android app handles information. It applies specifically to SMS Forwarder, published by Dostum Amigo SLU.

Last updated: 25 April 2026

In one paragraph. SMS Forwarder is an Android app that forwards incoming SMS messages to a destination you configure (email, webhook or another phone number) according to rules you create. Message content is processed on your device and sent to the destination of your choice. We do not sell personal data, do not use SMS content for advertising, and do not read your messages on our own servers.

1. Who we are

The SMS Forwarder app is published by Dostum Amigo SLU — full legal name DOSTUM AMIGO SOCIEDAD DE RESPONSABILIDAD LIMITADA, a company registered in Spain. Our registered address is Calle Princesa Teguise (Pto. del Carmen) 27, 35572 Tías, Las Palmas, Spain. Our CIF/Tax ID is B6188499. For privacy-related questions you can write to privacy@dostumamigo.com.

2. Scope of this policy

This policy covers the SMS Forwarder Android application only. The general Dostum Amigo company privacy policy — covering our website, IT services, software projects and automation work — is published at /privacy-policy/. Where the two policies overlap, the app-specific terms below apply to the app.

3. SMS permissions and what they are used for

SMS Forwarder requires SMS-related Android permissions because forwarding text messages is the core function of the app. We request only the permissions needed to make forwarding work:

  • RECEIVE_SMS — used to detect incoming SMS messages so that forwarding rules can be evaluated. Without this permission the app cannot know that a message has arrived.
  • READ_SMS — used only when needed for forwarding rules. Message content is read so that rules can match (for example, by sender or keyword) and so the original content can be included in what is forwarded to the destination you chose.
  • Internet access — used only to deliver forwarded messages to the destinations you configured (e.g. an email server or a webhook URL).

Permissions are requested at first use and can be revoked at any time in your Android system settings. Revoking SMS permissions disables forwarding.

4. What data is processed

While forwarding is active, the following types of data may be processed by the app on your device:

  • The content, sender and timestamp of incoming SMS messages, in order to evaluate forwarding rules.
  • The forwarding rules you create (for example: matching a sender, matching a keyword, target destination).
  • Destination details you provide (such as an email address, webhook URL or phone number).
  • Local app settings and a basic event log to confirm that forwarding is working as expected.

5. What data is NOT collected

SMS Forwarder is built to do its job and nothing more. Specifically, the app does not:

  • Send your SMS messages or contact list to Dostum Amigo's servers for storage or analysis.
  • Sell your personal data to third parties — under any circumstances.
  • Use SMS content to build advertising profiles or to serve ads.
  • Track your location, browsing history or usage of unrelated apps.
  • Share data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

6. Where data is processed and stored

Forwarding rules, destination configuration and event logs are stored locally on your device. The actual forwarding of message content travels from your device directly to the destination you chose — for example, to your email provider's servers or to a webhook URL you operate. The route of that delivery is determined by the destination you configured, not by us.

If a small amount of operational data is needed to keep the service running (for example, anonymous crash reports), it is processed only for that purpose and is not used to identify you.

7. You control the destination

The destination of a forwarded message is always something you chose: your own email inbox, your own webhook, or a phone number you specified. We do not have a default destination, and we do not insert ourselves between your device and your destination.

8. Sharing with third parties

We do not sell, rent or otherwise commercialise your personal data. We may use a small number of standard third-party services for purposes such as crash reporting and app distribution (for example, Google Play). These providers handle limited technical data under their own terms.

9. Data deletion

Because most data lives on your device, you can delete most of it yourself:

  • Open SMS Forwarder and clear rules, destinations and event logs from inside the app.
  • Or open Android Settings → Apps → SMS Forwarder → Storage → Clear data.
  • Or uninstall SMS Forwarder, which removes all locally stored app data.

If you have ever contacted us by email about the app, you can also request deletion of those support records by writing to privacy@dostumamigo.com. We respond to data deletion requests within a reasonable timeframe — see Delete data.

10. Children

SMS Forwarder is not directed at children. The app is intended for users old enough to manage their own SMS messages and forwarding configuration.

11. Your rights

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have rights under the GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. To exercise these rights with respect to any data we hold about you in connection with SMS Forwarder, contact privacy@dostumamigo.com.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of SMS Forwarder after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
